When TiBoukan whispers in the dark, she whispers in Haitian Creole. That was never up for debate.

Why this choice

Horror relies on authenticity. Haitian folklore told in another language would lose what makes it alive: the musicality, the silences, the words that have no exact translation. The voices of the game, the one that helps you as much as the ones that chill you, will speak the language of the story they are telling.

For the vast majority of players around the world, this will be the first time they hear Haitian Creole. We want that first encounter to leave a mark.

What about understanding it?

The game will be fully subtitled in French and English, alongside the Creole. You will not miss anything of the story, and you will gain something rare: hearing a language video games have almost never let you hear.

It is also a way of telling Haitian players, wherever they are: this game speaks your language, literally.
